History of SUV

Hello, SUVers! while you are looking for the classic SUVs, why not let us go back to the past and learn a little bit about the history of SUV?? have you ever wondered why SUV can be produced?? well some of you may know, but I believe there is also more of you who don’t. Am I right??? well I hope i am wrong, just hope all of you guys know the history. Anyway to add more of your knowledge about this lets just have a quick read before you go for the next post!

1947 Willy Jeep Station Wagon

First of all, to raise you interest, any of you know this car?? In case you don’t know, this is the first ever produced SUV model which is the Willy Jeep Station Wagon in 1947, this SUV model is the most successful post world war II model. at that time this SUV can be said as the luxurious SUV.

But actually, this is the first car produced for public consumption. There is other SUV model, but it is only used for military purpose, not for public consumption.

This is the Willy’s MB Jeep, which is produced by Willys Overland as a response to the request made by US army during world war. Actually the US army has put a request to many car manufacturers but only some respond to them. one of the car manufacturers who respond is willys overland,  they produce this SUV with the help of Ford Motor company in the 1930’s which is during the world war.

And after world war only so then SUV has started to be widely produced by several countries and several car manufacturers for military purpose or even for public consumption. And so then with the change in people’s need and wants so the design and function of the SUV become more and diverse.
